I found out that my monitor was calibrated to be a little too bright, so things look much darker on other monitors. Will try to go through and fix some stuff so its doesn't seem so dark and looks a little more accurate.

Long week finally ended

Some stuff i doodled today after i got out of class and ran some errands. I really wanna start doing SUPA COOL characters as well as be able to place them somewhere. I really love seeing a well designed character, then seeing the environment he belongs in. the impact on me is twice as much.

So disreguarding my current skill level i thought'd i'd try. Did a quick 3min sketch digitally, then did one a bit longer on pen and paper and tried to come up with a thumbnail that looked cool n kind offit the motif. It doesn't fit at all yet but i thought it was cool. so ill try to take this one as far as i can, then just go to the next one.

Ive seen some people make some outrageous leaps in ability in the span of 5-6 months while doing everything else life require. So I figure 3 months of mind-wringing frustration, I can take some pretty big steps. I'm writing up a schedule that I'll probably post later (stole the idea from someone) but thats my summer goal. Anyway art, stuff I did a while ago, but never got around to posting. The first few things are for a story I made for the purposes of having a world to concept in, my own little sandbox I guess, so will probably be a ton more to do with that for a while.

I plan to throw up alot of stuff soon, none of it really good or anything hence why I haven't put it up so far. But I'm mainly using this for archival sake, so I think it should be here.

Anyway here are a few pages of me trying to get a style I feel comfortable with sketching in photoshop(left one the others were embarassing.) a study that was supposed to be from a series of studies or random mechanical objects

for color and composition practice but I got bored with this one. And finally a failed image that I tried to be too ambitious, I hate everything about it now but live and learn.

The start of a little project between a few classmates of mine. Basicaaly throw your own spin on Jack the Ripper. I did some thumbnails as well as some sketchbook roughs that I should scan to record the process since I'm so terrible with it.

And a little abstract warmup thingie I did to get in the mood of drawing. The eye is really terrible, definately lowers the quality of it.

A small thing for a competition for a game I saw and thought would be fun to toy with. Didn't really plan out the design just shot from the hip with the first thing that came to mine, I'll definately follow a more thought out process on the next few. But I thought it turned out ok for what it was.

Some older stuff just to serve as a place-holder till I get some speed paintings up and stuff. The first is a study I did over the summer that turned out moderately well, there are a few hic-ups here and there that I could have fixed but I'll leave it as is. Second was a Bouguereau copy that I finished but dont actually have the finished version because my computer blew up the day of. Lastly was a self portrait I spent quite a bit of time on to get right.
